Why I Was Most Likely A Firefly In My Past-life (If I Ever Had One)

"I fall in love with people's passion for something. The way their eyes light up when they talk about the thing they love and the way they fill with light."

So I saw this in tumblr earlier (don't judge - i know most people have stereotyped tumblr as a brooding ground for anything hipster but really though, you see things that you can genuinely relate to once in a while). Everything in between the quotation marks screams what I find most intriguing about people in general.

Some people are still trying to figure out what is it that they want to waste their whole lives on once adulthood decides to take over what used to be the dwelling place for reckless teenage desires driven by foolish mantras inspired by the YOLO philosophy. Whether or not you admit to falling under this percentage is entirely between you and yourself. But then again, at some point - isn't it nice to finally feel like you're set with what you want to do for the rest of your life?

There's something about people who know exactly what they're doing and why they do it. I have found that I gravitate towards these kind of people: driven to excel, decisive, and determined to go and make it all happen. They don't take no for an answer and they simply will not allow themselves to wait behind the wings for a miracle to happen - they make it possible themselves. I love meeting people who are so passionate about something and it translates well in the manner that they speak of it. It's as if every second they spend talking about what they love to do, they seem to illuminate.

And all the while, I am in awe. And for a moment, I find myself getting lost in their passion as well.

  1. Funny how you're talking about "these people" when I, of all people, am pretty sure YOU are not one to laze about waiting for something to happen in your life ;) Just cause you (and a big percent of the world) can't answer the 'what do you want to do' questions, doesn't mean the life you're living isn't awe-inspring ;)

    yeehee :p
