"Relax. You're blowing things way out of proportion."
Is this an accusation which you are commonly a recipient of? Well, hello there person I can relate to. You are not alone in this hell of a habit that gets in the way of everything.
Actually, my name means "thinker" in French. Isn't that just appropriate? Some people might think that being overly-critical with certain things has its perks; allowing thoughts to go through infinite neural channels in our brains before arriving at a decent conclusion allows us to give more intellectual input on things. In a sense, since we question things more, we learn more.
In the first place, isn't that how scientists discovered the Milky Way?
Sure it's not exactly the worst habit. I probably have it better than most people who have an obsessive compulsive disorder and needs to open and close the door 5 times before he/she actually gets inside the room.
So when does over thinking morph from being an asset to simply a pain in the ass?
I guess it just gets in the way sometimes, you know? I devote too much of my time worrying about what to do next and if I will do whatever it is with justice; I take too much into consideration what others think and if I'm doing things right. If the decision I make will snowball into beneficial things. And then there's the million dollar question that puts all my insecurities in a nutshell: "What if I'm not good enough?"
I don't need advice. I know damn well what I should do. I should just suck on a baby pacifier and keep my mouth shut from all the whining and just live life without wasting a single microsecond.
With that being said, I plan to mobilize a movement devoted to saving the declining population of pandas, design a sky scraper, invent a new ice cream flavor, discover a planet and maybe cure the modern disease called the procrastination disorder.
Seriously though, I need to come up with some formula to help me cancel out all the unnecessary junk going on in my brain that's preventing me from being a productive being.
